Every tag has two pieces of user-editable content associated with it:
- a short tag wiki excerpt that tells people what the tag should be used for, and
- a full tag wiki page providing additional information that does not easily fit in the excerpt, including:
- a more detailed explanation of how to use the tag,
- general background information on the subject,
- a list of frequently asked questions on the topic, and/or
- links to useful external resources, like Wikipedia pages or official documentation.
Use this tag for discussions about tag wikis and tag wiki excerpts, such as creating or improving the content of tag wikis and tag wiki excerpts of specific tags on Main and Meta. The mandatory tag discussion is usually appropriate for such questions.
